About the Baseball Fan Grand Slam

In baseball, a grand slam is a home run hit by a baseball player when there are players on all three bases. A grand slam scores four runs in a single hit. It’s the most a player can score in a single hit.

So, what is a Baseball Fan Grand Slam? It’s a difficult feat of the same magnitude: taking in a ball game at every Major League Baseball park in one season!

That’s what we’re trying to do in 2023.

About Us

My husband, Brad, played baseball through college. More recently, he was a coach and president in Pacific Little League and coached select teams. He continues to serve as an assistant baseball coach at Mountlake Terrace High School. When he’s not coaching, he is watching baseball, often with my son.

Ryan, my son, is a high school ball player with dreams of playing college ball. When he isn’t playing, he’s watching games, working out to improve his game, or talking about baseball mechanics, players, and strategy with Brad.

Me? I’m my son’s biggest fan, and my husband’s back-end coordinator. I make sure there are plenty of baseball game snacks available. I attend every game I can. And I am delighted to watch my husband and son share their passion for the game.

When I’m not cheering them on, I work with families and employees experiencing homelessness. Together, they are the biggest segment of the homeless population in the United States. They are also the least likely to receive support. That’s why we decided to double up on this project and include a fundraiser to benefit my employer, Wellspring Family Services. We’re calling it Home Runs for Housing.

About Home Runs for Housing

You can help families and employees who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness get back on their feet by making a pledge on our site. You can pledge a flat amount to support our campaign, or you can pledge an amount for every home run we see during our trip. Then, you can follow along and watch the home runs add up! At the end of the trip, we’ll send you a link to a special page on Wellspring’s website. Of course, any donations to Wellspring Family Services, a 501(c)(3) organization, are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Thank you for visiting our site.

Let’s play ball!
